  • Blue Flag Capital converted Baron's Cove into the 67-room Faraway Sag Harbor.
  • Faraway Jackson Hole replaces Snake River Lodge with 90 guestrooms and 48 residences.

Blue Flag Capital and Collared Martin Hospitality have expanded their Faraway Hotels brand beyond New England, opening two new properties in Sag Harbor, New York, and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The expansion converts Baron's Cove and Snake River Lodge into hyper-local lifestyle hotels with tailored food and beverage programs.

Why is Faraway Hotels expanding outside New England?

The brand is moving into New York and Wyoming to introduce its design-driven hospitality to markets with strong identities and rich histories. According to eHotelier, the brand originated as a collection of island hotels on Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard. Now, Blue Flag Capital and its in-house management company, Collared Martin Hospitality, are bringing the brand to the Hamptons waterfront and the American West.

Jason Brown, Co-Founder and CEO of Blue Flag Capital, told eHotelier that the goal was never to create a formula. Instead, the company builds a collection of hotels that tell unique stories about their specific locations. Brown noted that while Sag Harbor and Jackson Hole are incredibly different destinations, they both share strong identities, rich histories, and communities that care deeply about where they live. HospitalityNet reports that these historic renovations focus heavily on hyper-local experiences and unique food and beverage concepts.

What are the property details for Faraway Sag Harbor?

The 67-room Faraway Sag Harbor transforms the former Baron’s Cove into an Oceanic Revival-themed waterfront hotel. According to eHotelier, the design was executed in collaboration with Jenny Bukovec Studio and draws inspiration from the village’s maritime history and whaling heritage. The interiors feature sea-toned palettes, richly layered textures, and residential-style gathering spaces that reflect the movement and light of the harbor.

The property anchors its food and beverage program with Zagara, an Amalfi Coast-inspired restaurant led by Executive Chef and Culinary Director Jarad McCarroll. Zagara pairs Mediterranean-inspired cuisine with a lively social atmosphere, offering a dining room, an outdoor terrace with sunset views, and private dining space. Additional amenities at the Sag Harbor location include a heated outdoor pool with cabanas, a new padel court, a fitness center, and spa treatment rooms seasonally operated by ONDA Beauty.

How does the Jackson Hole property differ in design and scale?

Faraway Jackson Hole is a larger operation featuring 90 guestrooms, 48 residences, and a "Wild Western Homestead" design concept. Located in the heart of Wyoming’s Teton Village, the property builds on the legacy of the former Snake River Lodge, creating a contemporary mountain retreat designed for year-round adventure. eHotelier notes that the design was a collaborative effort between Workshop/APD and Jenny Bukovec Studio, blending alpine influences and Western heritage through natural materials, warm textures, and residential details.

The Jackson Hole property offers direct access to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and includes wellness amenities such as an indoor/outdoor pool, a hot tub, and a sauna. For dining, the hotel features Sure Hand, an all-day restaurant and bar serving locally inspired cuisine and craft cocktails in a space overlooking the surrounding mountains. Later this summer, the property will launch curated adventure excursions in partnership with Backcountry Safaris, offering horseback riding, whitewater rafting, and tours of Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.

Brad Guidi, Co-Founder and Chief Development Officer of Blue Flag Capital, emphasized the distinctiveness of the two new locations. He stated that neither property looks or feels like the other, as every design decision, restaurant concept, and guest experience was developed specifically for its destination.

What other properties are in Blue Flag Capital's pipeline?

Alongside the Faraway expansion, Blue Flag Capital recently opened Hotel Corduroy in Montauk and will launch Oyster Estate in Greenport later this summer. These additions further establish the company's collection of design-forward properties across Long Island’s East End. eHotelier states that these new hotels join Blue Flag Capital and Collared Martin Hospitality’s existing collection of boutique properties on Nantucket, which includes Blue Iris, Brass Lantern Inn, and Life House Nantucket.
