What we collect

Your email address, and only if you type it into our signup form. Nothing else — no name, no company, no job title. We do not use tracking pixels, advertising cookies, or analytics that profile you.

Why we hold it

To send you The Hospitality Newsletter. That is the only purpose. We do not sell, rent, or share subscriber addresses with advertisers or anyone else.

Cookies

We set no advertising cookies, and we never will. Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them.

We count page views ourselves in a way that needs no cookie and no consent: a visitor is a truncated hash of IP address, browser and date, which cannot be reversed to an address and cannot be linked across days. Your IP is never written down. This runs whatever you choose below, and it is how we know how many people read the site.

If you accept analytics cookies, we also use Google Analytics to understand which articles are read and how people arrive. Until you accept, Google Analytics stores nothing on your device. If you decline, it stays off — and declining is remembered, so we do not ask again. The only other thing kept in your browser is your answer to that question, held in local storage and never sent to us.

Third parties

Our fonts and article photography are served from our own server, so reading the site does not tell anyone else that you were here. One exception remains: our stylesheet is loaded from Tailwind's public content network, which means your browser contacts that service and it can see your IP address. We are working to serve that file ourselves too, and this page will say so when it is done.

How long we keep it

Until you ask us to stop. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the sending list immediately.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted entirely. Email info@thehospitalitynewsletter.com and we will action it. If you are in the EU or UK, these rights are yours under the GDPR.

Where your data lives

Subscriber addresses are stored on our own hosting, not with a third-party marketing platform, and the file holding them is not reachable from the public web.
