Airbnb Bans Mandatory Checkout Chores for Guests
Airbnb will prohibit hosts from requiring guests to perform major checkout chores like stripping beds or washing dishes under updated platform rules. The changes require all rules to be disclosed prior to booking and forbid hosts from levying direct financial penalties.
Key Takeaways
- 1Hosts cannot mandate tasks like bed stripping, dishwashing, or offsite trash disposal.
- 2All house rules must be explicitly disclosed on listing pages prior to booking.
- 3Hosts are barred from issuing their own fines, with repeat violators risking demotion in search results.
